Welcome to our web site! My name is Steve Monk, President of ADI and
consulting author of the ADI interactive training system. I've been
a freelance, top level auto detailer for
over twenty years - performing my services for some of the
most discerning clients and restoration shops on the east coast
of the United States. Realizing that others could profit from this
business as well, I started Technifinish Systems™ in 1995. At
Technifinish, I developed and began manufacturing a unique,
fully-enclosed, custom mobile detailing shop, as part of a
non-franchised business "start-up" package.
Although Technifinish Systems™ has done well on a small scale, I
know it's limited sales volume is not due to a lack of interest on
the part of my prospective customers. In fact, the phone rings off
the hook virtually every time I place an ad for the system. I
promptly respond to these individuals with layout and pricing
information - but only
a handful take the next step. After extensively researching all of
the possible reasons as to why these prospects tend to slip away; I
uncovered an issue inherent to the entire mobile systems
industry. What I learned is that few people can comfortably
afford the multi-thousand dollar investment to get started in
the business - even with financing available. A mobile shop is an
incredible expansion tool for an established detailing
business - for most "start-up" individuals
however, it is prohibitively expensive.
Having developed a greater understanding of the financial limitations and concerns of many
"start-up" individuals, I set out to design a system where
almost anyone can enter the detailing business - without the
initial multi-thousand dollar investment of a mobile set-up or
stationary shop. Over the past few years, I've discovered,
innovated and refined a series of specialized detailing
techniques specific to "start-up" field application.
Additionally, I've researched and tested products and equipment
alternatives, which (if used in proper combination) can virtually
eliminate the need to carry large quantities of water and heavy
gear for the "start-up" individual. After compiling a storehouse of
information, I invested over a full year producing the ADI
interactive CD-Rom. I've created this system utilizing a network of
diverse media & informational resources - providing my students with
a cutting-edge learning tool. After completing this course,
the trainee can contact virtually any professional products
distributor of his/her choice worldwide, acquire a few hundred dollars worth of
materials, and get right to work. Entering the business in
this fashion completely eliminates the worries and pressures
associated with most large investment "start-ups". In this manner,
an individual can gage his/her potential success over time, and
determine if the business is truly for them, while enjoying an
enriching, positive experience.
